How two childhood pals from London got 569,645 friends (and counting)…
The story so far…Back in 2004 many of our colleagues and acquaintances were starting businesses. Lots of them had brilliant ideas. But they were struggling to find the seed funding necessary to grow; and the best investors to guide their growth.

This got us thinking, really thinking…

The problem was clearly undermining the startup scene and stopping so many great ideas from getting the opportunity they deserved. And we thought we could solve it. So we set out to build an online platform connecting startups with a global network of angel investors.…and the product is the website you see before you now!

Did it work?

Well, we started small, but now our network has 30 branches extending to 80 different countries. We have 569,645 registered members with 107,252 investors and 462,393 entrepreneurs. This makes us the largest angel investment community in the world, and we’re growing daily. As a result, we’ve already raised £200 million for some of the coolest startups in the UK and across the world.

But that’s not all…

As we have grown so has the startup scene. So we have expanded our areas of expertise to meet the various demands of the modern day startup.

We also realised that different ideas are more suited to one type of fundraising strategy than another. So to make sure we can help anyone, whatever their idea, we have plans (and FCA approval) to launch a crowdfunding platform before the end of 2015.

Stay ambitious.

  2. I am an inventor & researcher of microbial rennet, enzyme & culture and has successfully invented 9 types of veg and organic cheese so far amongst which pasta filata mozzarella, cheddar, blue cheese, prime spread, nachos cheese, cammebert, brie and our very own meadowfield cheese and greencheese.

My veg & organic cheeses has been commercialized in Malaysia for almost a year now. The market trial in Europe & Malaysia started in 2010 when the first veg mozzarella invented.

Due to the drop of RM currency and since the sources of material ie the milk & the protein are from France, we decided that the full commercializaiton in factory size / up-scaling of the innovation should be carried out in UK ie in Enfield London.

Hence we are looking for angel investor / crowd funding to help us with the start up in UK. At the moment we will be operating in Brockley Road SE4 2BT London until we get the fund of at least UK Pound 500,000 to start renting the Enfield SME factory and commence the solid production of 5 containers of mix soft & hard cheese monthly to meet at least part of the 15 containers demand monthly.

Hence I dont mind giving away 60% annual return to VC / angel investor or 40% annual fee for loan amounting to UK Pound 700,000 – UKPound 1.2 Million.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you. +60132202200 +60123482518

  4. my question is: Why investors never interested by novel and original technology ?
they always looking for existing company or societies with big revenues.
really it is not legal. I spend all my life to develop a very interesting technology, never exist before, can help us to advance our knowledges in many fields such as human motion, health-care, 3d character animation….
Also I dislike the manner used by all Angel Investors for treating and selecting new project. Always submit business plan, business plan…. . in my opinion a business plan can’t gives all secret of any technology and it is not really a serious step before launching a startup .

    Best regards

    1. Hi Rabah,

That’s not the case. Angel investors do invest in startups, but the entrepreneur obviously has to show that they’ve managed to make some progress on their own, and can show some early proof/traction. And of course investors will want to see a business plan, so they can fully assess the business and investment opportunity before deciding whether they want to invest. If you want to protect your idea, you can ask them to sign a NDA before revealing the sensitive info.

      Best wishes,

  5. Hi Mike
as an entrepreneur myself who all my life wanted to start and run my own business, for example I worked all my life in the beverage business in sales in particular plus many other areas, now I see this opportunity to own a wholesaler company already stablished for many years which I think is an excellent opportunity with big potential located in the North East of England in which the Company holds wholesale partnership agreements with both Heineken UK & Carlsberg, which were difficult to obtain.. Boasts a 100% retention rate with suppliers..
    Sales Revenue: £1,000,000
    Cash Flow: £130,000
    Gross Profit: £200,000
    Adj. EBITDA: £130,000
    any advice Mike ?
    Best wishes,
    Gino T.
